NZ Golf & Art Festival - Napier/Taupo/Auckland - Feb - NZAD012 PDF Print E-mail

Enjoy some of New Zealand’s most picturesque locations such as Auckland, Lake Taupo, Hastings and Napier.  Included in this special golf tour is the Napier Art Deco Festival which commences on the Wednesday mid Feb.

Participate in fun activities such as golf, winery & house tours, dining, jazz, dancing, film, theatre, vintage car and train rides and much more. Beautiful Napier, the centre of the Hawke's Bay region was rebuilt in the early 1930s following a massive Earthquake.  By the end of the decade, it was the newest city on the globe housing a concentrated variety of buildings in the styles of the 1930s - Stripped Classical, Spanish Mission, and above all Art Deco. Napier's Art Deco is unique, with Maori motifs and the buildings of Louis Hay, admirer of the great Frank Lloyd Wright.

The Festival Program includes an Ambrose Golf Tournament on Friday for the keen golfers at the Napier Golf Club, whilst non-golfers are spoilt for activities including optional tours, entertainment, shopping for Art Deco Costumes and souvenirs, dancing lessons, Costume & Coiffure competitions just to name a few.  All will participate in the fabulous Steam Train – Pea, Pie and Pud Run to Ormondville and return on the Friday, along with Picnic in the Park and Vineyard lunch on Sunday.  Following the festival, golfers will again be spoilt with games on the most picturesque courses in New Zealand. Return to Australia via Auckland.  This truly is a step back in time not to be missed. Early bookings are required for this tour due to the Art Deco Festival inclusion.
