Known as “Down South”, the Margaret River Wine Region offers quality, not quantity and that’s the deal with the events on offer during the Wine & Jazz Festival.

ImageThere’s a tempo to suit every one, with a wide selection of music, wine and food events hosted at 85 venues presenting great local, national and internationally acclaimed musicians. Accompanied by fantastic cuisine, world-renowned wines from such magnificent estates as Evans & Tate, Leeuwin Estate & Capel Vale and an astounding natural environment makes this is an event not to be missed! The festival is staged overlooking forests, white beaches, acres of lush vineyards and magnificent surf breaks, you can join a festival wine makers dinner, chill out to the sound of jazz and a glass of crisp white, up the tempo boogying at a blues afternoon, or maybe join an educational wine or celebrity cooking class. You also have the added pleasure of playing golf on four of the most beautiful courses in Australia. There is so much to do and so little time!

Araluen - A challenging Par 72, 5953 m, 18 hole championship golf course designed by Roger Mackay and Michael Coate, bordered by state forest and the Canning River, featuring large undulating greens, testing changes of elevation and strategically placed water hazards and bunkers. Wide, impeccably manicured fairways contribute to the unique character of this very special course, which is truly one of nature’s most picturesque playing fields.

ImageSecret Harbour - Crafted by course designer Graham Marsh into the spectacular ocean side landscape, Secret Harbour a traditional Scottish links course, boasting 18 superbly designed holes laying breathtakingly against the panoramic setting of the vast Indian Ocean. Each hole presents several tee options depending on wind conditions and the player’s ability.

The Sanctuary - Located at Pelican Point & designed by Michael Coates, this magnificent course opened in 1994. Features include water, water and more water - in fact it comes in to play on no less than 12 holes and even the driving range is an aqua one using floating golf balls. With 64 sand bunkers, the course can challenge low markers, whilst the generous fairways and gentle greens cater for all.

ImageJoondalup Resort & Country Club - Recently voted Australia’s No.1 Resort Golf Course and designed by Robert Trent Jones Jnr, this 27 hole, Par 72 Championship course is 6332 m in length. There are three diverse natural landscapes of bush, dunes and quarry, providing a variety of golf holes and shot making challenges. Comprised of three magnificent courses; Lake - an open links style course, Dune - a very tight narrow 9 and Quarry - as the name suggests is cut from an old limestone quarry with the courses signature par 3 third. Joondalup is also famous for abundant bird life and kangaroos.

“I have known Geoff for some 15 years and during this time have been on numerous tours both in Australia and overseas. While not claiming to have reduced my handicap as a result of his tours they have always been conducted professionally with as much emphasis on the social aspect as the golf side of things. The courses that he chooses are great challenges and it pays to take his advice, 'go where the mowers go'. At dinner over a couple of glasses of red ask about search and rescue. Geoff has a great sense of humour and a library of jokes. A great time is always had by all on his tours.” Tony Morgan (AG)
